Get To Know: UnProv

In future Newsletter’s we’re going to use this space to get to know more about Fantastic Voyage performers, and maybe even some other improvisers around the community.
But first, we want to address something; What Even Is UnProv?
This is a question we’re constantly asking, as well as constantly refining the answer to. On the surface, UnProv is UNcensored, UNscriped, UNpredictable, UNexpected, and fUN.
On a deeper level, UnProv is the spirt of trust and adventure that our performers bring to everything we do, whether it’s our stage shows, photo shoots, troupe get-togethers, and everything else we do. It’s living the performance knowing the rules exist, but we get to choose whether or not they apply.

Stuff you might want to know

FVI collaborates with Little Theater Auditorium

This past November FVI’s Zachary Kulzer and Suzanne Cross traveled to New London to participate in a joint venture with Little Theatre Auditorium’s Crow River Players! They led two workshops with the focus on combining improvisational technique with Crow River Player’s brand of storytelling to create something brand new. This culminated in two performances one at the open mic night at Little Theatre Auditorium on November 22nd and the other at FVI’s Broken Clock show on November 25th. This Broken Clock show was special. FVI and Crow River Players met at 4PM before the 7PM show to meet, rehearse, and have fellowship together to prepare for the show. It was a wonderful experience!

Jester’s Comedy Improv

Not only does Jester’s do great improv shows, they also host live game shows at fun locations around the Twin Cities! This month they’ll bringing local “celebrities” to Can Can Wonderland and Railwerks Brewing Depot for the classic Match Game, as well as some new games of their own creation!

Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative

Of course you should visit Broken Clock for our live show on January 20, but did you know there are lots of other cool things happening this month? Here’s a quick overview of a couple, but check out their events calendar for more!

Wednesdays – The Initials Game. Pop culture trivia in a fun format. Starts at 6:15.

Thursdays – Bingo hosted by Firefighters for Healing. Starts at 6:15
